Lori Vallow Daybell has been restored to capacity by the state of Idaho, meaning she is fit to stand trial for the murders of her childreen Ty Lee Ryan and JJ Vallow who were discovered buried on the property of her husband Chad Daybell after months of being MIA and both Chad and Lori never commenting on the disappearances.
If one expected to see the picture of a torn up, grieving Mother, or even the picture of a conflicted woman, then they obviously were expecting too much out of Lori Vallow Daybell. As she entered the courtroom with her legal counsel she was completely composed.
Lori Vallow Daybell enters plea of not guilty
You would think after being restored to competency, you would at least see some pain etched across her features upon realizing just where she is at and what on earth she’s actually here for, but not Daybell. She simply sat there and nodded at the judge, completely composed, no tears, no shaking voice… did she look mildly regretful?
Yes, but in the same way one might regret their choice of wearing white after labor day… not once did the gravity of the situation seem to hit her, not once did she ever seem to realize that she is actually being arraigned for the murder of her two children.
She did seem to understand from a legal standpoint what was about to happen, but it would seem that there is no amount of therapy and/or medication that can manufacture a sense of human decency out of this woman. There were no tears for her children, no look of a distraught Mom, just… a vague sense of being troubled.
Obviously, if she’s been restored to competency, then she knows both of her children are dead. How she got up there and managed to put in a ‘Not Guilty’ Plea for all of the charges with a straight face is something that we’ll never grasp, but somehow she stood on the stand, stone-faced, and entered a not-guilty plea for all of the charges.
We can’t wait to see what the defense actually comes up with for that. This trial promises to be a circus, and it looks like the three rings are set to start in October of 2022. We at DSD will be following the case. Stay tuned!!!
