Elon Musk purchased Twitter on Monday when they accepted his $43 billion offer and since then, Elon has been on a roll for free speech. He’s continued to say things like he hopes that his biggest critics will be on Twitter because that is what free speech means. Everyone can have their own say.
Musk has garnered a ton of attention for this move and it seems black and white with the responses. Either people absolutely love it or they’ve been complaining since yesterday threatening to leave the platform and deleting their accounts, because Musk is scary I guess.
Jack Dorsey Trusts Elon Musk Running Twitter And Has Regrets From His Time Running The Company
However, one person that surprised us is Jack Dorsey, the man that was behind Twitter for what felt like forever. Jack has been criticized for censoring speech in the past and shutting down accounts that probably didn’t deserve to be shut down. However, he has come out in support of Elon.
He first tweeted out a Radiohead song, ‘Everything In Its Right Place’ before speaking about Twitter, his personal regrets and his hope for the future. In his thread, he says that ‘Elon is the singular solution I trust’.
“In principle, I don’t believe anyone should own or run Twitter. It wants to be a public good at a protocol level, not a company. Solving for the problem of it being a company however, Elon is the singular solution I trust. I trust his mission to extend the light of consciousness.“

He also speaks of Elon’s goal to create a platform that is ‘maximally trusted and broadly inclusive’.
I tend to agree with Jack and honestly, I think Elon is the right person to run Twitter. As long as you’re not actively breaking the law by threatening violence or doxxing someone, you should be free to say what you want and that looks like the future for Twitter.
I’m surprised by Jack‘s comments and it seems he’s turned a corner in his mind.
