Joy Behar took a bit of a tumble on Thursday as she face-planted onto the ground as the show began. Behar hit the ground after she tried to take a seat but misjudged where she was and all of her momentum went with anyways.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg and a P.A. helped the 79-year-old back up to her feet and Behar laughed it off. However, it appeared to be a nasty fall and could have hurt far more. In fact, she was probably in pain throughout the show.

You can see the video below, though the camera pan away right when the fall happens, so you see just before, and just after.

“25 years, that has never happened to me. Who do I sue?!”

She didn’t miss a beat getting back to her feet and joking about suing. Of course, it’s just a joke, and if she was actually serious, there has to be some negligence on the owner’s side, and this looks like it was all on her. Later in the show, Joy used her fall to make a serious turn, urging people not to take these accidents lightly and mentioned comedian Bob Saget who died after falling in his hotel room.

She said, “If you hit your head, and you feel dizzy or you have blurred vision, or you feel like you want to go to sleep, go to the doctor. Because that will kill you.”

I was a bit surprised hearing her joke and get back to her feet with relative ease. Good on Behar immediately joking about it and telling people to take these kinds of accidents seriously. In the background of the clip, you can hear someone from the audience yell “We love you, Joy”!
