If you are familiar with the world of tribute artists, the name Leesa Marie Benz may sound familiar. She is a well-known Marilyn Monroe impersonator. She is now part of the Real Housewives of Orlando series that will premiere this summer on Bravo.
Benz’s claim to fame came in 1995 when she competed in a look-alike contest that was being held as a way to promote the new Marilyn Monroe stamp. Her friends and family encouraged her to enter the contest and the rest is history.

Benz tells cameras, “I had three months to get ready. So I really had to study her. I had a strong resemblance to her, and then with tweaking the makeup and hair, and getting clothes, old vintage clothes, it just kind of all came together.”

Not only did she win this contest, she decided to compete with others in the area. She won Mrs. Ormond Beach 1999 and Mrs. Daytona Beach 2000. Her career blossomed and then she heard about auditions for the Real Housewives of Orlando and send in her audition video.
She was pretty hesitant to audition because she wasn’t living in Orlando then and she wasn’t married either. Her friends told her that she would be perfect for the show. When the casting for the show began in November of 2021, she found out that she would be part of it and she was very excited.
She has learned a lot about being on television and how many hours are put in for just one episode of the show. It takes them about 30 hours of filming to get 20 minutes of the show on film!
Part of this series will show many of the housewives who currently live in the Orlando area and Benz is excited to grow a new fanbase and show fans what her life is like on a daily basis. With all of the Real Housewives shows, we will see a lot of drama and tears. There will be those jaw-dropping moments like we have seen before and of course, the petty backstabbing.
For fans of the Bravo Housewives series, this will be a great, new series with all of the bells and whistles. If you are ready for some new personalities, you will love what this season has to offer!
