‘Futurama‘ is coming back after streaming platform Hulu has ordered 20 new episodes! The sci-fi comedy series was originally created by David X. Cohen and Matt Groening. Both creators will be returning for the revival series, as are the original cast members Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr, and David Herma.
However, as of now, John DiMaggio, the voice of Bender is not currently attached to the project. The report suggests that they obviously still hope to get DiMaggio, who is currently part of Netflix’s fantasy comedy ‘Disenchantment’. If not though, the voice will have to be recast.
“I’m thrilled to have another chance to think about the future… or really anything other than the present,” said Cohen. Groening added, “It’s a true honor to announce the triumphant return of Futurama one more time before we get canceled abruptly again.”
