‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Erika Jayne has always claimed its expensive to be her, and estranged husband, Tom Girardi sure didn’t mind complying, purchasing for his then-wife a $750 000 pair of diamond earrings.
Unfortunately for Erika, those earrings were purchased by Tom on company funds and now that he is being sued for all he’s worth (and then some), it looks as though Erika may have to give the jewels, which have since appreciated to be worth around $1.4 million, back.
But Erika won’t be returning the diamonds without a fight.
‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’: Erika Jayne Refuses To Give Up Diamond Earrings Worth $1.4 Million
Attorneys investigating Tom’s alleged mishandling of client funds and declaration of bankruptcy claim that, due to the fact that he purchased the earring with misappropriated funds swindled from his law firm- Girardi Keese’s client trust account, these clients actually own the precious gems.
Legal documents state that Tom purchased the jewelry from M&M jewelers, concealing the extravagance by saying the check drawn for the purchase was a “cost” item as part of one of his lawsuits.
Thus far Erika has refused to return the earrings, even though the trustee states, “Erika has no legal or equitable right to the Diamond Earrings and the same are legally and equitably valuable assets of the GK Bankruptcy Estate that the Trustee can and should sell.”
Worse still, Erika’s naked lobes could mean a world of difference to the victims who Tom stole money from.
A motion has filed been filed to stop Erika from selling or transferring ownership of the earrings and attorneys have asked the courts to force Erika, who herself has had a $25 million lawsuit slapped against her, to relinquish the expensive rocks.
We’ll have to watch and see how that plays out
Meanwhile, Erika, now a single lady on the prowl is trying to make it on her own. We all know she earns a pretty penny for airing out all her filthy laundry on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and she was once earning some coin from a pop and Broadway career she is determined to return to.
While she awaits her big break part II, Erika has started a hair extension company- Pretty Mess Hair, where she sells her hair extensions for a whopping $700 a pop! The buyer then needs to visit a hairstylist to actually put the extensions into their hair!
Hey, you do you, Erika– make your money how you want, but for the love of all that is decent, help these victims by turning in a pair of earrings!
