There’s a new report that suggests Queen Elizabeth had some concerns about Kate Middleton before she became a member of the British royal family. That’s because the monarch believed that Kate still needed to find her identity before she was thrust into the spotlight as a British royal. Here’s what you need to know.
Prince William married his royal sweetheart Kate Middleton back in 2011 and while things have certainly been stable for them ever since, one book says that Queen Elizabeth had “grave concerns” about the brunette beauty.
Here’s Why Queen Elizabeth Had Grave Concerns About Kate Middleton
Royal expert Katie Nicholl wrote in her book, “The Making of a Royal Romance,” that Queen Elizabeth wasn’t sure if Kate had an identity before she married William. Nicholl put it this way, “Privately she had grave concerns and believed that Kate needed to have a job and an identity in her own right before an engagement was announced.”
Apparently, royal expert Phil Dampier believed the same thing, as he says that Queen Elizabeth was even worried if Kate Middleton had it in her to keep up with her royal workload. He told Express in 2018, “Kate was William’s girlfriend for eight or nine years before they got engaged and got married. There was a phase where she appeared to be doing very little really. The Queen once even remarked that Kate doesn’t do very much.”
Phill even added: “I think she had a fairly long entrance to the Royal family.” Fast forward several years later and it’s pretty clear that Kate is not only one of the most admired women in the world, but a huge asset to the British Royal Family in more ways than one, too.
