There’s a party being thrown in her name and you better believe that she’s going to be there. There’s a new report that says Queen Elizabeth is in good spirits and that yes, she will be attending most of the events that will be celebrating her Platinum Jubilee. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
According to reports, even though the Queen has been staying out of the spotlight, she will be front and center for her Platinum Jubilee celebrations, which will take place in June of this year.
Here’s What You Need To Know About Queen Elizabeth’s Health Update
“We understand the monarch very much wants to get back to work, but I think it’s going to be a case of making sure she really has made a full and complete recovery before courtiers start packing up her busy work schedule,” royal expert Katie Nicholl told ET. “My understanding is that, at the moment, it is just about carrying out light desk work at Windsor [Castle], more virtual audiences and meetings, and really making sure that the queen is in tip-top health ahead of her June jubilee celebrations.”
Nicholl added that plans for the Jubilee are “absolutely going ahead.” The celebrations will include the 2022 Royal Windsor Horse Show, which will culminate in a 90-minute event on the grounds of Windsor Castle as the country begins the big celebrations of the Queen’s 70-year reign. 500 horses and 1,000 dancers and musicians will take part in the show with a floodlit Windsor Castle in the background.
What’s more, a program of events featuring a parade, street parties, and a live concert at Buckingham Palace will take place during a four-day holiday weekend in June of 2022 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 70th year on the throne. And yes, the Queen is really hoping that her grandson Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle can make it for the festivities, too.
“Of course they’re invited, it’s a family event!” said one insider. Another tipster said that a lot can happen in the course of one year and that a lot that has been said and done might be forgiven by then. Plus, it will also be an opportunity for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to bring along their two children, Archie Harrison, and their daughter, Lilibet.
Archie has also only seen his cousins, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children — Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 6, and 3-year-old Prince Louis — once or twice since Harry and Meghan decided to pack their backs and move to California last year.
