Prince Charles has reportedly began his journey to reconcile with his son Prince Harry when he decided to praise him in a US publication.
Prince Charles Begins Attempts To Reconcile With Prince Harry-‘It Was A Deliberate Move’
Relations between Charles and Harry have been at an all-time low, especially in light of reports that Charles was the one who had apparently expressed concerns about his son Archie’s skin colour.
And given that Harry is set to release his memoir this year, it is not surprising to hear that it would be in the best interests of Charles to be on good terms with him given that he is next in line to the throne.
As such, an incriminating account would be the last thing that he would want. According to reports, Charles had decided to praise Harry’s work on climate change during an essay for ‘Newsweek.’
That has been seen as an attempt to put aside all the bad blood. In an interview on the Royally Us podcast, the show’s host Christina Garibaldi, stated the following: “We know it’s been tense, we know they are not really speaking.
“So it was really lovely to see Charles make such a supportive statement. He will always be proud of his son and the achievements he has made in his charitable work. [It was a] deliberate move.”
This was significant for the following reasons. First of all, it has been around a decade since Charles has been quoted by a United States publication.
Therefore, it is clear that he is trying to garner influence in the US, the place where Harry has forged his new home. Secondly, in any event, we are still no closer to knowing the motives behind this.
Was this simply a move by Charles to improve his public image or is he actually being genuine about his son’s achievements? Regardless of the motivation, it is a step nonetheless.
Christina’s following comment confirmed as much: “Hopefully this is baby steps into making amends because we have been talking about this for years at this point.”
Time will tell how Harry receives this. So what are you thoughts about this move? Let us know. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
