That is according to Royal expert Katie Nicholl. This would be no surprise given what is expected to happen this year.
Prince Andrew’s sexual assault allegations have threatened the image of the Royal family, which would only go on to be compounded if the lawsuit is ruled in Virginia Giuffre’s favour.
In addition, it is no secret that Prince Harry is going to be releasing his tell-all memoir this year which promises to be a frank account of his time in the Royal family. With so many things to contend with, it is only natural that Kate will be stepping up to the fore.
In an interview with Closer magazine, Katie said: “In recent years, we’ve seen her leadership in the wake of Megxit, throughout which she’s kept calm and carried on.
“I think this year she’ll come into her own even more, especially as it’ll be a tough year for the royals.” But it is not just the two incidents that we have mentioned previously that are bound to have gotten the Queen worried.
Her health of late has not been in very good condition which required her to be hospitalised, as well as her missing the memorable Remembrance Sunday service.
This would suggest that the Queen’s workload needs to be reduced in order to allow her to recuperate. In this way, there could be no better time for Kate to fill that void.
Katie added: “Kate will step up and I know the Queen hugely values her support, and will rely on her more than ever.”
If Kate does take on a leading role, then it would very much put an end to the prospect of Meghan Markle reconciling with the Royal family.
After all, Meghan is partly the reason why Kate has had to take on an increasing role because of her absence, as well as her conduct in the aftermath of the exit in 2020 which led to a negative portrayal of the Royals. So there you have it.
