The Ace Family can’t seem to catch a break, it seems, not that they didn’t dive right into this mess headfirst, but we’ll have a little bit of sympathy for them simply because the holidays are coming up in two months and they won’t have a house to live in.
In the words of Lizzo, “all the rumors are true”, the Ace Family, Austin McBroom, Catherine, and all of their kids are losing their home because a court hearing that was held outside (due to social distancing, no doubt) stated that the property would revert back to the beneficiary – and that was the bank.
Beverly Hills sues Ace Family
One commenter posed an excellent question though, how does one go from having $25M in the bank, to literallly getting evicted from their home? And there’s a multi-layered explanation to that, but in a word, lawsuits. If you’ll remember, Austin McBroom’s company who put on the Tiktokkers vs. Youtubers fight failed to pay any of the participants in that event, and got themselves sued.
Catherine McBroom was sued by her own skincare company for allegedly attempting to stage a coup in which she conspired with her family and friends to take over the company that had helped found her skincare line – Yike!
Now, due to an ‘unsanctioned parade’ that they had outside their Beverly Hills home for their fans (they have 19 million subscribers, we can only guess how many showed up outside the home for this mini-event), they’re getting sued by Beverly Hills to the tune of $200,000.
That’s on top of the $100M lawsuit Austin already has against his company that organized the boxing event. Back in May was when this parade happened, he posted flyers for the boxing event all over snapchat and tons of people showed up for the parade, and at one point Catherine and her one lone security guard had to duck into a nail salon to get away from the crowd.
The thing is, it’s surprising that Austin would allow this in a post-pandemic world because as of May, social distancing was still a thing, and people were actively touching Catherine. People could have gotten hurt from being trampled, yes, but lots of people, including both Catherin and Austin could have gotten sick.
McBroom promoted this event without getting any kind of permit for the city, so that’s what prompted the lawsuit, no freedom infringement whatsoever, he just literally did everything illegally.
For close to two hours the streets between Wilshire and Santa Monica Blvd were shut down and a lot of Beverly Hills PD support staff had to show up to wrangle people. The lawsuit in question is being filed for monetary damages, negligence, and violation of city code. Hoo boy.
It’s not looking good for McBroom either, because the City of Beverly Hills has totally come for them. In the lawsuit there are screenshots not only of McBroom’s advertistment for the pre-fight party, but also of all of his social media where he’s bragging about shutting down Beverly Hills.
The City was the one who had to end up cleaning up after all of McBroom’s fans… and they are not happy about it. Stay tuned!!!
