When watching the new Hulu documentary Controlling Britney Spears, one part stood out to me. At one point, Britney had a best friend named Felicia Culotta. If anyone has been following the #FreeBritney movement then one will recognize the name.
Culotta was Britney’s personal assistant for years, in the documentary she said she started working for Britney when she was in her 30’s, she already knew who she was, and she and Britney just instantly hit it off and for years she was Britney’s right-hand girl.
Will Britney get her friend back?
However she said that one day, after the conservatorship took place, Jamie Spears cornered her and told her that she wasn’t to go on Britney’s Euorpean tour with them and that Britney didn’t want to see her anymore.
Felicia thought that she must have done something to make Britney mad at her, and her trip was already booked, so she decided that she would indeed go on the tour, but just planned on not seeing Britney at all due to the verboten nature of visits.
Jamie had said that Britney had said if she saw Felicia, she wouldn’t go out on stage. So Felicia made herself scarce and indeed, Britney did not see her throughout 99% of the tour.
Except for the very last bit, Felicia happened to be in the room when both Jamie and Britney entered the room while Felicia made it a point to book it, so did Britney! Britney practically chased Felicia down and leapt on top of her, hugging her!
Felicia speculated that it was probably Jamie and a few others on Britne’s team that were plotting to get her out of the picture and perhaps turn them against each other and that was why Jamie told her not to come on tour.
This begs the question though, now that Jamie is gone and the conservatorship is on its way to being dismantled, is she going to invite her friend back in her life?
She said in her hearing that there were ladies that she did AA with (in spite of never having been addicted to a substance in her life) that she wanted to get in contact with because they had become friends during the meetings – so will the same apply to Felicia Culotta or will she continually be a part of Britney’s past?
