ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal the Cassadine men are probably a lot more alike than either one might realize. Or admit. Last week, we saw the perfect example. We can’t help but wonder how long until the truth of that stalker comes out, and what effect it will have on everyone involved. Let’s take a look at what happened and what we see.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Like father, like son
We made no secret of it. Sure, he’s kind of won us over a bit. Of course, we think that has something to do with Ava Jerome (Maura West). Still, we were no fan of Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) when he returned from the alleged dead.
Keeping his status secret for years, leaving his son to think he’s an orphan was bad enough. Although, that might be somewhat understandable if he thought he genuinely had to stay away to keep Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) safe. But his other actions? No way.
Not only did he psychologically torture Ava, but he hired people to scare Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) away from her own child. And he does some of these things while pretending to be deeply concerned, like with Hayden. It seems some of that Cassadine toxicity rubbed off on Spencer, despite not being around dad for years.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Manipulated again
Ava is really going through it where the Cassadine men are concerned. Not only did she have to deal with thinking she’d gone insane, but she was also made to believe horrible things about her late daughter’s afterlife by a “ghostly” Nikolas. Now, she’s been terrorized into divorce by a stalker, who’s definitely patterned after Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom). But the real stalker, Spencer, took it up a notch.
In a really manipulative move, Spencer pretended to want a truce with Ava. Then, he “sympathized” about the situation she’s in, while also making things worse. He went on about how she’s sending Nikolas mixed signals and needs to be consistent, for everyone’s safety. Then he even played up the threat of the “stalker”. Would Spencer really go so far as to hurt someone? We don’t know for sure. But he’s certainly shown he can push the limits, and he is his father’s son…
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: What we see
We think Spencer needs to check himself. ‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate he was (rightfully) hurt and angry over Nikolas’ “death”. But now he’s being about as cruel and manipulative. The truth always comes to light, so eventually Spencer will be exposed as the stalker. As he’s an adult now, there’s going to be consequences there. But we think he’ll be dealing with some worse personal ones.
It seems obvious he really does want to be in Nikolas’ life. He just couldn’t deal with Ava after she’d let him down all those years ago. But when Nikolas finds out his son interfered in his marriage like that, going so far as to imply harm will come to a child if the “stalker” isn’t obeyed, Nikolas will be the one with a reason to be angry.
And given how willing he is to face down danger for the sake of being with Ava, we think Nikolas could have an extreme reaction. Whether he takes it easy on his son or not, one thing is clear. We think their relationship won’t be the same, and it shouldn’t be.
