Chris Harrison has given his take on Matt James’ decision to get back with Rachael Kirkconnell.

The former host of the Bachelor franchise decided to walk away after having been a host for over a decade. Chris, for his part, was initially criticised for his response to Rachael’s scandal. While it had been hoped that he would make a return, he chose to walk away with a huge payout.
At the time of his departure, he said: “I’ve had a truly incredible run as host of The Bachelor franchise, and now I’m excited to start a new chapter. I’m so grateful to Bachelor Nation for all of the memories we’ve made together.”
That does not mean he does not keep track of what is going on. So when he was asked about Matt and Rachael, he had this to say. In an interview with TMZ, he stated: “You know what, I’m happy for them, and I wish them all the best. I hope they’re in love, and I hope they do great.”
Chris’ replacements, although having done well, have failed to live up to his standard. This was most noticeably seen on social media when a large section of fans stated that they would boycott the show following his departure.
It is still unclear whether the franchise will survive following his exit, but we do know that ratings have been lower than when Chris was on it. Despite the bitterness in how it all ended, Chris had no hard feelings. He wished everyone the best with the show.
He added: “I wish everybody the best. I will say it’s been kind of nice to have, after 19 years, to have my Mondays back, including last night.” Having that free time has allowed Chris to enjoy himself a lot more. He was spotted following the celebration of his 50th birthday with his girlfriend, Lauren Zima.
And with so many avenues available for Chris to expand into, there is no doubt that we will see him back in a hosting capacity in the future. As for what that could be, he refused to open upon it. Regardless of what Chris does, we wish him the best.
