When Prince William is pissed, you know things are about to go down. There’s a new report that says British network ITV was forced to make a last minute edit to a Prince William and Prince Harry documentary after Kensington Palace issued a rebuttal over claims that Prince William planted stories about Prince Harry’s mental health to the media back in 2019. Here’s what you need to know.
ITV was forced to cut some scenes in which royal correspondent Omid Scobie suggested that Prince William might have planted stories about his brother Prince Harry and his mental health.

This came after both Harry and his wife Meghan Markle hinted that not everything was “okay” in their own ITV doc and interview with royal correspondent Tom Bradby after their state trip to South Africa in 2019.
During their interview, the Duchess of Sussex thanked Bradby for asking if she was OK, saying “not many people” had asked her that. Harry, in his interview with Bradby, confirmed there were tensions between him and his brother, saying they were on “different paths.”
In the new ITV doc, ‘Harry and William: What Went Wrong?’ Omid Scobie, the official biographer of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, had alleged that sources from inside Kensington Palace had spoken to newspapers about concerns for Harry’s mental state.
Scobie, who was the co-author of the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle book, Finding Freedom, said in the now deleted scene, “I would say that it was no coincidence that it was shortly after that aired, even the next day, there were source quotes that came from a senior aide at Kensington Palace saying that William was worried about his brother’s mental health. That fed off such an ugly thing for Harry and it did not go unnoticed. Now whether William directed that or not, no one will ever know, but it came from his household that he is the boss of.”
In the actual version of the show which screened last night, Scobie’s comment was cut and the words, “about his brother’s mental health” were excised.
‘Harry and William: What Went Wrong?’ was watched by 1.9M viewers on Sunday night. So far Kensington Palace has not made any comments about the matter.
