Prince Harry might have married an actress, but it looks like he’s still got some work to do when it comes to his own deflection skills. Apparently, the Duke of Sussex was a “nervous ball of energy” with Prince William by his side at the unveiling of a Princess Diana statue in London last week.
While Harry wanted the world to think that he was feeling calm and collected, his body language told a different story. Here’s what you need to know.
Prince Harry Was ‘Nervous Bundle Of Energy’ With Prince William By His Side
According to Express.co.uk, Pod Save the Queen hosts Ann Gripper and Russell Myers say that Prince Harry was clearly nervous at the event, in which he and his brother William unveiled a new statue of their mother on the grounds of Kensington Gardens.
This was the second time that Harry has made an appearance with Prince William since he and his wife Meghan Markle threw the entire royal family under the bus in their epic interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March.
During the podcast, Gripper put it this way, “You can imagine Harry would have been feeling tricky about it. He would have known he was in the spotlight, I mean apart from anything else he has talked about the trauma he has experienced through the sound of photographs and that kind of thing. And it’s obviously an emotional day anyway, anything connected with his mother will be. So you can understand him being a bit of a nervous bundle of energy, I’m sure, but hopefully what I saw or hoped was warmth was genuine and that they have managed to improve relations through this visit and this time together.”
Myers added, “I think you’re right actually, that assessment of a ‘nervous bundle of energy’, that was my viewpoint of it. I think William did look pensive, just deep in thought. I mean, it’s a difficult situation, isn’t it, seeing his brother, all the backstory going on, the Spencer family there who were obviously really happy to see both of them.”
The Diana statue was a 1 ¼ times life-size embodiment of the late Princess of Wales with three children around her. Additional reports say that Prince Harry might return to London in September for an even bigger event for the charity organizers that helped put the statue together.
