ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) has earned our wrath a few times. We love the actress. And there are times when Carly can be fun. For example, we loved her cheerful “You can break the news” to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).
And she can throw out some great one-liners to an enemy. However, Friday saw her doing something we thought was way over the line. Will this lead to a complication in the Jason/Carly wedding? Let’s see what happened and what we see.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Over the line
First, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal Carly and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) had a moment on Friday. And we couldn’t believe our eyes and ears. And we might be a bit more annoyed at her actions because we were giving her credit.
See, Jason had made it clear to Carly that he felt terrible for Britt and what happened. And how he does care and wants to be there for her. So, when Carly approached Britt, we thought she might confess the real reason for their wedding so Britt will know it’s not about him not caring for her. Wrong.
Instead, Carly proceeded to lie her you-know-what off. She went on about how they’d confessed their feelings for each other a while back. They just didn’t think it was appropriate to act on them at the time, given Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) had just allegedly died.
Implying, of course, that any relationship between Britt and Jason wasn’t real. Just him marking time with someone while pining away for his real love. Wow. We couldn’t believe how classless that was. And how cruelly she said it.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The motivation
So, why did she do it? Everyone’s made it clear they know how things are. Carly always comes first with Jason. Actually, she’s got a talent for inspiring that devotion. Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) proved the same goes for him when he betrayed Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to keep Carly’s part in Nelle Benson’s (Chloe Lanier) accident under wraps.
So, we think she couldn’t take seeing Jason having that depth of emotion for Britt. Especially since she was disapproving when Jason first pulled Britt into their plans.
Since they’re going to be married for business purposes, we think Carly couldn’t (and didn’t want to) risk Jason pining away for another woman while he’s married to her. Because that’s a threat to her special bond with him.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Consequences
Of course, this will likely have consequences. ‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate Jason walked in right after Carly’s stunt. Just in time for Britt to look to both of them and tell them to go to Hell.
He was rightfully confused and wanted to know what Carly did. So, he does have his eyes open enough to realize Carly was likely the cause for any problem there. If Carly tells the truth (or he finds out), this could put a crimp in their wedding plan.
We think Jason will be angry and insist on some ground rules. One of those could be an apology to Britt. Another would be to never do anything like that again.
It is, after all, meddling in his business. We’ll see how this goes. We’re hopeful he’ll give a reality check, but we also know Carly’s good at getting away with stuff. So, anything could happen here.
