TLC’s Counting On has been taken off air in the aftermath of Josh Duggar’s arrest.

The former had been arrested on the grounds of charges related to child pornography. While the trial is still ongoing and Josh’s guilt yet to be proved, the producers have decided to put an end to things until the conclusion of the trial.

In a statement given to Us Weekly, the producers confirmed they would be giving the Duggar family time to resolve their issues. The statement said: “TLC will not be producing additional seasons of Counting On. TLC feels it is important to give the Duggar family the opportunity to address their situation privately.”

If the reports are to be believed, then Josh’s life will never be the same. He has been accused of having pornographic materials depicting the abuse of minors. Given that the Duggar family prides itself on its Christian faith, the news was hard to swallow.

Josh is set to face the courts in November this year. And if he is found to be guilty, he could face up to 20 years in jail. That would certainly put an end to his involvement in the show and would raise questions over whether the Duggar family would be willing to continue without Josh.

Nevertheless, there is help on hand to make sure that Josh and the family are best prepared for what is to come. Lacount Reber, who happens to be a pastor, has allowed Josh to reside with him and his wife, Maria Reber, in anticipation of the trial.

That support will come in handy. Maria told the court: “I am looking at it as we are here of help for the family … to Josh and Anna, and we want to administer to them as best as we can. … My husband has made the decision, and I’m here to support that decision.”

The only thing that the Duggar family can do is wait for the result of the trial. Regardless of the outcome, the family will have to re-evaluate whether they want to be a part of the show or even Josh’s life going forward.
