There is a new report that says Prince Harry is now in the UK. The Duke of Sussex has arrived in London a week ahead of his grandfather Prince Philip’s funeral, which is expected to take place next Saturday. The Duke of Edinburgh died on Friday at the age of 99. Here’s what you need to know.

Prince Harry arrived in the UK solo, as his wife Meghan Markle is currently pregnant with the couple’s second child and decided to stay back home in California, due to the ongoing pandemic that has been the coronavirus. Meghan reportedly did not receive medical clearance from her physician.

This is Harry’s first trip back to the UK since March of 2020, when both he and Meghan wrapped up their duties for the last time as senior members of the royal family.

Royal author and expert Omid Scobie says that this will be a very difficult time for Prince Harry, as he was always very close to his grandfather. In fact, Harry was only on speaking terms with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip from his family this past year.

“Not only is he many miles away from his family and the queen… he is also not able to be immediately part of what is going on over here in the U.K.,” Omid said of Harry. “The royal family has gotten used to the sort of digital means of communication and he will no doubt be in touch with the family.”

As many royal fans know by now, Prince Philip recently spent four weeks in the hospital, which was his longest stay ever.

He was transferred briefly in early March to a specialist cardiac center at another London hospital, where he underwent a successful procedure for a pre-existing heart condition.

The Palace said in a statement on Friday: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.”
