The death of Prince Philip has led to scores of people around the world to pay their respects.

People Mock Prince Phillip Following His Death

In an official statement, the Royals said: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.” Despite the well-wishes, Philip had been a divisive figure throughout his tenure in the Royal family.

He was known for making inflammatory statements. On one occasion during his visit to China, he had infamously told some British students that ‘: “If you stay here much longer, you’ll all be slitty-eyed.” Such a remark led to a fractured relationship with China at the time.

He infamously made one of the most historical mistakes known throughout the Royal family. During a Royal visit to London, he spoke on how a teenager from Bangladesh at a London youth club “look[ed] as if he is on drugs.” Naturally, his death also had some equally provocative reactions to it. Many people began to mock Philip since his passing. Several people on Twitter could not hide their disgust at the late Royal.

One user wrote: “Anyways, I woke up this morning, and Prince Philip didn’t,” while another person commented: “Keeping Prince Phillip in my thoughts, I know Diana beating his ass rn.” Philip did not do himself any favours during his time as a Royal. The latest Prince Harry and Meghan Markle interview led people to question whether he was responsible for making comments about their son, Archie’s skin colour.

While Harry refused to comment on who had made those remarks, the reaction from the public said it all. A Twitter user posted a picture of a person in a casket to show how Philip would feel if he saw Archie. The post was captured with the following comments: “Prince Phillip when he sees Archie wearing a durag to his funeral.” Regardless of how people may view Philip, there is no doubt that his passing will further strain the Royal family.
