In episode 3 of Pig Royalty, we got a first-hand look at how the Pig Show Politics work, especially when it comes to show organizers and judges being friends. In spite of her head not being in the game, it looks like McKayla Balero won showmanship in the “Old Timers” category, along with her little cousin Nugget, who won the junior division, even though it was clear to see from the playback (and mostly from the comments they were getting from the Rihn family) that they were not at the top of their game.

It was clear to see from the moment that McKayla and judge Ty Chumlee put their heads together and smiled at each other, that McKayla was going to win.

Her older sister McKenzie even said in her confessional that she had previously told McKayla that she was the one that was going to win. McKayla had asked her how she knew and McKenzie had answered in a sing-song voice “Politics!” at least McKenzie is honest about the whole thing. Is she the nicest person?

No, not at all. Is she brutally honest? Yes. While that can be a good quality when used in the right measure it can also be a terrible quality when dealing with very sensitive people, and McKenzie has all the tact of a raging water buffalo. Yike!

Kammi Rihn was not happy about the wins at all. She said she might have to take the judge around the backside of the barn. Mom Jody, the gracious loser of the bunch was like, “What?” she said, “Nothing, I only said it once!” no doubt Mama would have been angry had she been in a position to hear what Kammie actually said.

Kammi went onto say that she would have been fine if she felt she had lost to McKayla fairly, but she didn’t feel the loss was fair at all because of how close McKayla and the judge were. Michelle Balero just said that that was life, and that you didn’t get every job you applied for. No, but the power has a definite imbalance when the boss is your best friend. Stay tuned!!!
