Danny Masterson, best known for his role as Steven Hyde on ‘That 70’s Show’ has been in some hot water the last year or so. In June 2020 he was arrested on suspicion of raping three women in separate incidents between 2001 and 2003.

Now he claims that ex-Scientologist Leah Remini is hurting his trial and making it more difficult for him simply because he still belongs to the Church of Scientology and she has come out detesting it after being in it for so many years.

Masterson alleges “she even ‘corrected’ their statements to police, according to court documents.”

At the time of his arrest, Remini had tweeted:

‘Finally, victims are being heard when it comes to Scientology! Praise the lord!

‘This is just the beginning Scientology, your days of getting away with it is coming to an end! #justice #scientologytheaftermath’.

Masterson has maintained his innocence over the last year and says he was completely caught off guard when he heard the claims first come to light in 2017.

He said in a 2017 statement that ‘in the current climate, it seems as if you are presumed guilty the moment you are accused.’

It would be very strange if Remini was interfering with his case strictly because of his Scientology background. We’ve all heard the stories and have our own opinions are the Church of Scientology, but for someone to mess with the police and prosecutors of a rape trial by influencing them.

Masterson will have his days in court, and if he’s found guilty, he will be tried as such. However, it’s entirely possible that he is being falsely accused due to his Scientology background and 2001-2003 being the height of his popularity on the show.

It’s an interesting claim and one that we will need to keep an eye out for.

What do you think? Do you think there is a possibility of this being true? Let us know in the comments below.
