British Royal Family News find that Thomas Markle, who has never met a member of the royal family in his life, doesn’t believe the claims that his daughter Meghan Markle made that suggest they are racist.
Following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey on Sunday night, Thomas has gone on the record to not only defend the royals, but also take a swipe at his daughter and son-in-law. Here’s what you need to know.
After Meghan made it pretty clear that she felt betrayed by her father for cooperating with the paparazzi before her royal wedding to Prince Harry, Thomas Markle is adding his two cents over the claims that his daughter made in her interview with Oprah.
British Royal Family News: Thomas Markle Doesn’t Think The Royal Family Is Racist
Meghan suggested that there were conversations over ‘concerns’ over how dark her son Archie’s skin would be by certain senior members of the royal family, sparking some serious allegations over racism.
“That was relayed to me from Harry. Those were conversations that family had with him,” Meghan added, declining to reveal who was involved in those conversations. “That would be very damaging to them,” she said.
“That conversation, I am never going to share,” Harry added. “At the time, it was awkward, I was a bit shocked.”
However, Thomas thinks it’s all baloney.
“I have great respect for the royals, and I don’t think the British royal family are racist at all. I don’t think the British are racist, I think Los Angeles is racist, California is a racist, but I don’t think the Brits are,” Markle, 76, said Tuesday on ITV’s “Good Morning Britain.”
“The thing about what color will the baby be or how dark will the baby be — I’m guessing and hoping it’s just a dumb question from somebody … It could be somebody asked a stupid question. Rather than being a total racist,” he insisted.
“This whole thing about color and how dark the baby is, is bull—,” Markle said, adding that he thought the remark should be investigated.
