Felicidades! Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin have welcomed a new Baldwin into this world. While there are reports that say the couple are now parents to six children, some details about the child’s birth remain unclear.
Seeing how the celebrity mom gave birth to her son Edu back in September of 2020, there’s speculation that the newborn might have been carried by a surrogate or adopted.
That, and no one knows if the child was born in New York City or Hilaria’s adopted hometown (in her mind) of Mallorca, Spain. Here’s what you need to know.
Alec Baldwin And Hilaria Baldwin Welcome 6th Child
Without adding a caption, the former yoga instructor took to Instagram to share a picture she says was taken by the Hollywood actor showing her laying in bed with her six children, including a newborn whose name she has yet to reveal.
She then went on to caption her photo with the number 7 and a red heart emoji. Alec and Hilaria already have five children: sons Edu, Romeo Alejandro David, 2, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 4, and Rafael Thomas, 5, plus daughter Carmen Gabriela, 7. Alec is also the father to 25-year-old daughter Ireland.
Back in December, Hilaria claimed that she was the victim of cultural appropriation after she was outted for not being Spanish, as she previously hinted.
Hilaria told The New York Times, that the Spanish culture has always been a part of her life and that her background and heritage was misreported but because she never reads articles about herself, she never corrected it. Hilaria insisted “there is not something I’m doing wrong” and claimed those accusing her of cultural appropriation “have been confused in some ways by people misrepresenting me.”
“The things I have shared about myself are very clear,” Hilaria also said, adding, “I was born in Boston. I spent time in Boston and in Spain. My family now lives in Spain. I moved to New York when I was 19 years old and I have lived here ever since. For me, I feel like I have spent 10 years sharing that story over and over again. And now it seems like it’s not enough.”
Hilaria also said that she didn’t think she was misleading anyone into thinking that Spain was her home each time she said she was going to visit her parents abroad. Although they are from Boston, Hilaria’s parents retired to Mallorca in 2011.
“Home is where my parents are going to be,” she said. “If my parents move to China, I am going to go to China and say, ‘I’m going home.’”
