‘Sonic the Hedgehog‘ has had quite an incredible story over the years. From the first official trailer showcasing a botched character design of everyone’s favorite blue hedgehog to fans’ reactions causing the studio to delay the film to completely redo the CGI to becoming one of the biggest movies of 2020.
I saw it in theaters before the pandemic hit and that’s been the last time I’ve been to the movies since, but I’m glad it was Sonic. Ben Schwartz did a fantastic job voicing Sonic, James Marsden was fantastic as “Donut Lord” and it was refreshing seeing Jim Carey back to his comedic roots.
Fans have been asking for a second film and we now have a release date! Take a look at the clip below that was uploaded with the following description,

Fans commented on the teaser, “Hooray, someone actually remember there are more Hills than just Green and Seaside! ^D^”, “I love how they have Emerald Hill music here, soooo underrated.”, “Who else thinks that chaos emeralds would be important in this movie just like in the game”, “dang, the first official announcement and they’re already hitting us with a release date. I feel like this movies gonna be a blast, who’s with me?”, and “I literally can’t stop replaying it, the music is just so nostalgic, it’s bringing back all the memories my brother and I used to pretend we’re sonic and tales, play the games, go to school and play sonic with our friends. Ahhhhh, I can’t wait.”
All we know so far is what we were shown at the end of the first film, we will see more of Dr. Robotnik and we will also see Tails, also thrown into the logo of the second film title!
‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ is set to release on April 8, 2022.
