It was a huge weekend of action last weekend for the WWE as Clash of Champions took centre stage. However, the show ended with Roman Reigns standing tall with the Universal Championship on his shoulder.
Reigns went to new lengths to show that he is the man to beat on the blue brand, after beating down his own cousin for the honour of being called champion.
However, after that straightforward victory, fans have been asking the same question now, what could happen with the Universal Title picture next? Here are a few superstars that could challenge for the gold on the blue brand.
WWE News: Jimmy Uso
It would appear as though the rivalry between Reigns and the Usos is not over just yet, and that could mean that Jimmy Uso may step up to challenge Reigns at Hell in a Cell. There will be a ceremony on SmackDown that will see Reigns crowned the Tribal Chief, and that could give Jimmy the perfect opportunity to interject.
It could be an interesting rivalry between the two stars, as Reigns went too far on his beat down of Jey as Clash of Champions, and Jimmy will be looking for revenge rather than the championship. This could be the most realistic next opponent for Reigns.
WWE News: Samoa Joe
The Usos may instead get help from elsewhere, which could mean a shocking return to in-ring action for Samoa Joe. Joe and Reigns were once at horns against each other after Joe was accused of trying to run Reigns over. However, that later turned out to be Rowan.
We could finally see Joe return to competitive action in the WWE and demand answers from Reigns about his actions from the past weekend. Unlike Jimmy, Joe would present an incredible threat to Reigns’ championship and would ensure that Reigns will need to be at his best to beat him.
WWE News: Drew McIntyre
Instead of getting a traditional title match, we could end up seeing a unification battle between McIntyre and Roman Reigns. This has been something that fans have been talking about on social media over the past couple of days.
However, the problem that the WWE will have then is that the champion will need to appear on both brands, which would make the draft somewhat pointless. Having a title on each brand gives all superstars more of a chance, and that shouldn’t be taken away.
