One of the best things about Raw over the past couple of months has been The Hurt Business. MVP aligning with Bobby Lashley, Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin has made for entertaining television, which helps when the team come out every week looking like a million dollars.
The team are also able to look like a dominant force as they carry gold, with Bobby Lashley being the current United States champion.
However, now it appears his feud with Apollo Crews is over, there could be an opportunity for another Raw superstar to step up and challenge Lashley for the gold. But, which superstar could be best placed for that opportunity?
WWE News: Ricochet
It could be the turn of Crews’ friend to have a chance at the title, which means we could see Ricochet step up to take on the reigning champion. Crews has had his chances and has been unable to get the championship off the shoulder of Lashley, and now it could be the turn of Ricochet.
His aligned with Crews, which ensures that it could be a natural progression that the WWE could take as there is already history there between the two superstars.
It could also play a part in a potential dilemma for Crews, who may be forced to second-guess whether he should be aligned with the Hurt Business. It could be an interesting story, and looks like a possible route. Either way, seeing Ricochet in a meaningful rivalry would make the WWE Universe happy.
WWE News: Mustafa Ali
As well as Ricochet, Mustafa Ali has also been joining forces with Crews, and that could indicate that he will be the nest star to step up to the Almighty One. Ali has been underused on programming throughout much of the year.
Like Ricochet, it would be a pleasant surprise to see him involved in something that is meaningful. The groundwork already looks to be in place to make the match happen, as Ali and Lashley have been clashing on social media throughout this week.
WWE News: Keith Lee
Instead, the WWE may look to move away from the storyline involving Crews, and that could mean a completely new opponent for the championship. Keith Lee had a match against Andrade on Raw this past week, which could indicate that he is no longer involved in the Orton/McIntyre feud.
If that is the case, then a programme against Lashley for the US title could be an entertaining one. It would also be a good way to ensure that he is doing something meaningful on the main roster. That will keep fans happy, as they want to make sure that the WWE doesn’t drop the ball with Lee.
