HBO’s ‘The Vow’ details the frightful experiences of several people who were involved in the cult, NXIVM. The leaders of which, have been charged with sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. This series will take a deep dive and spotlight the experiences, good and bad of people who were involved, and why they chose to leave.

Take a look at the trailer below that was uploaded with the following description,

“Be careful what you commit to. From Oscar-nominated, Emmy-winning directors Jehane Noujaim and Karim Amer (“The Square,” “Control Room,” “Startup.com”), The Vow examines the self-improvement group NXIVM, whose leaders have been charged with sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. The docuseries takes a deep, nuanced look at the experiences of its members, spotlighting their universal desire for personal growth. Amidst claims by NXIVM participants of both profound transformation and devastating abuse, the series seeks to reveal the issues behind the headlines and explore the emotional toll of unfolding events on these individuals.”

Perhaps the thing that people notice right away is Alison Mack, famously Chloe from ‘Smallville’ who was apart of this cult and got mixed up with the leader. We don’t know how much of her we’ll see in the docu-series, but we can assume that she’ll be in a lot of clips about the founder and leader.

Viewers wrote about Mack, “Allison Mack…sigh, my teenage crush….too bad. Feel bad for all the people abused and mislead attached to this cult, but since I loved Smallville and crushed on Mack, her situation seems more tragic.”, and “I thought that was Chloe from Smallville”. Unfortunately, it was.
