When you think of Hollywood Boulevard, the last thing you would think of would be now, in 2020, someone attacking and assaulting someone on Hollywood Boulevard of all places just for being trans, right?
Well, apparently society is not as accepting as they’d have you believe because last week it happened to trans Influencer, Eden the Doll. Eden was not alone either, she was accompanied by her friends, Jaslene Whiterose and Joslyn Flawless and they were all attacked and robbed by three men.
First they demanded their wallets, bracelets, and cell phones and then they started hurling the anti-trans slurs their way. One of the men forced Jaslene Whiterose to walk a little ways with him before he hit her in the hit with a metal pipe he was carrying, knocking her unconscious.
Youtube: Eden the doll and other trans influencers attacked on Hollywood Boulevard!
All the while this was happening the attack was being filmed, and the people filming the attack were even yelling out derogatory terms for the trans influencers. Joslyn Flawless was the one who posted the video to her instagram account saying that the man forced her to hold his hand while he looked for Eden and Jaslene in order to kill them, and told Joslyn that if she was trans he would kill her too.
He also demanded that she give him her shoes, jewelry, and all her possessions. All the while, people were standing around telling the attacker that she was a man and he needed to beat her.
Thankfully, some people uploaded the video to social media and tagged Eden, that was how they were able to get enough evidence to identify the people involved. Eden is grateful to have a social media presence that allowed her to get this evidence, but it’s clear that society needs work.
You know, what’s really appalling about this situation is that random bystanders were joining in. And this is not even something that we can blame on 2020, this is just societal shortcoming that needs to be fixed.
Eden and her friends weren’t doing anything inherently wrong, they were getting out of a car when this happened, they were simply being themselves and got attacked, not in some Podunk Town, but on Hollywood Boulevard, the place you’d least expect.
Thankfully, Eden and her friends are now working with the LA County DA’s office and they are going to press charges against everyone involved. She went on to say in her IG story that “Social media has forever changed and saved my life. Without your help, no one would have listened.”
We’re so glad that she’s getting help and that she had enough video evidence to put her and her friends’ attackers behind bars. However, wouldn’t it just be great if you could get out of a car on Hollywood Boulevard and not get attacked, no matter what gender you profess to be? I think that’d be great. We’ll keep you updated. Stay tuned!!!
