British Royal Family News says that even though they were once very tight while growing up together, Prince William and Prince Harry are sadly not on speaking terms anymore. While the two royal brothers do communicate for work purposes, they are not as close as they once were, mostly because William still feels slighted over the fact that Harry and his wife Meghan Markle pulled the plug on their working relationship with the monarchy. Here’s what you need to know.
According to author and royal journalist Omid Scobie, who helped co-author the book, Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, he says that Prince William was none too pleased when Harry and Meghan decided to reveal their working and post-Megxit plans with the public without consulting with him first. Since then, things simply haven’t been the same between William and Harry.

“I think the distance between the brothers grew wider and wider,” Scobie said in an interview on “True Royalty TV” that aired Sunday. “The statements weren’t discussed internally. That’s really what caused the most amount of hurt to William, because he wears two hats. He’s not just the brother, he’s also future king and he felt that damaged the reputation of the family.”
Scobie also believes that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did more damage than good by revealing so much about the way they wanted to ‘break free’ from the monarchy when such things should have been discussed internally, instead. Until this day Prince William can’t bring himself to forgive the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for what they did.
The royal expert added: “That it put family business out into the public domain when it should’ve been discussed privately and there was a lot of hurt there that continues to this day.”
