EastEnders spoilers have revealed that an affair is set to lead to the separation of one of the most beloved couples in Walford. Viewers of the soap will remember that earlier this year Ben Mitchell came to the realisation that Lola Pearce had a one-night stand with Peter Beale. It was a stunning twist for couple, who had worked so hard to make their relationship work.
Fans would have been forgiven for thinking that the relationship between Lola and Jay Brown was back on track after Ben agreed to keep the secret safe. However, when the soap returns could Ben suddenly decide that he doesn’t want to be burdened by this secret and may come clean to Jay about what he knows?
EastEnders Spoilers: Sad End For Beloved Couple
The revelation that Lola spent the night with Peter would break Jay’s heart, and would likely mean an end to Lola and Jay’s relationship. Before the soap went off air, viewers will remember that Lola fell pregnant with Jay’s baby, before deciding that she didn’t want to have another child just yet.
Viewers will remember that Lola already has Lexi. Jay has been a father figure for Lexi throughout her life, but still he wanted to have a baby of his own with Lola. Jay later proposed to Lola, which led to the couple breaking up for a short amount of time as she struggled to come to terms with what was best for her.
EastEnders Spoilers: Ben Finds Out Secret
Ben has been through his own turmoil this year, as he has been left partially deaf. However, he was quick to catch on that something was going on between Lola and Peter, and demanded to know what had happened. Lola admitted the truth to Ben, before pleading with him to keep it a secret.
Ben ultimately decided to do that, but he may later regret making that promise. In the closing scenes of the last episode, Jay revealed that he trusted Ben more than anyone else in Walford, and that could potentially mean that he is faced with breaking the secret pact that he made with Lola. But, could this really be the end of the beloved couple? Or will they be able to find a way to work through it?
