The spokeswoman for the soap admitted that Corrie have been working tirelessly with the government throughout the pandemic trying to examine when and how filming could resume. It was also revealed that Corrie have been talking to other production teams about how filming could resume safely and within the guidelines of the government.
In the same statement, it was also announced that they would not be rushing back to filming as the health and wellbeing of all those in the Corrie family will be at the forefront of their decision. Coronation Street News: Soap Needed To Adapt
These have been unprecedented times for the soap and Corrie have been forced to adapt. The reaction by bosses was to reduce the number of episodes on per week. The original number of episodes stood at six, but this was condensed to three. The main reason for this was to ensure that the soap didn’t run out of episodes.
It still isn’t clear how many more episodes the soap have left, which will leave fans nervously waiting to see whether they have to go through a dreaded week with no episodes. However, fans who are still looking to get their fix of Corrie will be able to get classic episodes on streaming site BritBox and the ITV Hub.
