ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers star Chloe Lanier (Nelle Benson) is asking for help. The daytime television actress says that industry workers are in desperate need of relief, as many have lost their jobs and income because of the global pandemic that is the coronavirus (Covid-19). General Hospital shut down production back in mid-March along with the other three major network daytime television shows. Here’s what she has to say.
On her Instagram story, Chloe Lanier reached out to her fans and wrote, “With the abrupt shutdowns of production caused by COVID-19, our industry coworkers in need are scrambling for help with temporary financial assistance, health insurance, mental health assistance, rent, food, and other essentials.”

She continued, “For #GivingTuesday, you can help @mptf and continue to support out entertainment community by making a contribution that will be doubled!”
She then shared a link to MPTF, which is the Motion Picture and Television Fund. The charitable organization was first established back in 1921 and offers assistance and care to those in the motion picture and television industries with limited or no resources.
Meanwhile, the producers of General Hospital have not made any comments as to when they plan on starting production back up. Of course, the hit soap – along with the rest of the entertainment industry – will have to wait until the state of California lifts its shelter-at-home orders. However, some California businesses will slowly be opening their doors again this Friday while also taking the necessary precautions in ensuring that everyone remains safe while also practicing social distancing until the novel virus has been curbed.
