There’s also a couple of very awkward conversations. If you missed it, let’s get to your ‘Days of Our Lives’ recap.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Bad news
Vivian’s good day goes down the drain in about two seconds flat. She calls the hospital to get an update on how her “mother” is doing, only to learn Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow) is awake. She nearly loses it, but manages to cover with the nurse who took her call. She now needs to out of there A.S.A.P.
She leaves her room and sneaks down into the DiMera tunnels, with the later help of Gabi and Stefan. She is worried about her claustrophobia, but Gabi points out that a prison cell won’t be any less suffocating. Suddenly, she’s not so worried about the tight space.

‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Sticking it out
They’ve had a rough start, which Gabi DiMera admits to, but it seems like the marriage with Stefan is on track, despite the Mother-in-Law from Hell. Stefan is, in fact, planning something special for the two of them. He presents Gabi with a globe and tells her to pick anywhere for a honeymoon trip. She is touched, and wants to go to Europe. Specifically, she wants to see the school he went to and any other special sites there for him. They are totally in love, and are all in for the future, which Stefan wants to spend making her as happy as possible.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: All for love
Gabi and Stefan have a minor fight before helping Vivian escape. Following Kate waking up and naming Vivian as her shooter, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) drops by the mansion to arrest Vivian. Gabi spills that Vivian is upstairs, seeing no other alternative. However, she has an ulterior motive. She’s hoping that the time he takes going upstairs to seek Vivian will give Vivian the time to escape.
She points out to Stefan that Vivian is now behind them in the doorway of the main living area, so they hurry in and get her in the tunnels. Unfortunately for them, shortly after, Rafe returns, having not found Vivian upstairs. They tell him she must have gone out, as they were planning a dinner for two, but Rafe doesn’t buy it. He is going to stay. In fact, he decides to search the tunnels. Is there anyone in that town that doesn’t know about/have access to those tunnels? We see a new focus for the security team at DiMera…
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: The downside
Jack is overjoyed to remember Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) and his kids again. JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) is pretty excited about that himself, and happy for them. But Jack soon realizes there’s that massive downside to remembering one’s past. Seeing Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) at the hospital reminds him of what he had done to her.
He feels horrible, and it’s almost like he’s dealing with the aftermath of that all over again. He’s clearly upset about it, as is Kayla, who is also now being forced to relive this. She does, however, assure Jack that they made peace with that a long time ago. He decides to go outside and take some alone time to deal with his shameful memories.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Awkward talk #1
The first of two very awkward moments are with Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) and Kate. He’s forced to finally explain about how he had made the decision to take her off life support and donate her organ to Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). Kate is offended, and in shock. She also later jokes that he might need to change her health proxy. But, after he assures her that he had been told there was basically no chance of her surviving and that Julie had a second heart attack that made her situation more dire, she forgives him.
She doesn’t, however, forgive Kayla, who she calls a “quack”. She is, in fact, thinking of suing her. She thinks it’s the height of incompetence for her to be declared all but dead, only to wake just in time to avoid getting killed on the operating table. We kind of agree. From her side, it looks bad. Lucas tries to talk her out of it and point out she’s already got enough to deal with, but Kate says she’s good at multi-tasking. We’ll see if she eventually decides to take action.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Awkward talk #2
The second really awkward talk is when Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) and Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) have to break the news to Julie. She’s not getting a heart. Julie is obviously disappointed for her situation, but glad that Kate will live. Doug and Hope try to be encouraging, but Julie thinks they need to be realistic about her chances. They vow that they are going to find a way to help her.
