The Slaton sisters have become very popular on TLC. Their hit show, 1000-Lb Sisters is going into its third season this winter and fans are very excited to see Tammy Slaton and Amy Slaton back at it. Tammy has been opening up more on social media lately though.
Many of her fans think that because her show is so popular these days, she and her sister must be making a lot of money. According to Tammy though, this isn’t the case at all. It looks as if the network may be making more money off of them than the sisters are actually making from the show itself.
1000-Lb Sisters: Tammy’s Thoughts on Money
Tammy used to be very active on her TikTok account and many of her videos got flagged for how she spoke about her opinions. Before she got the boot from the social media platform, she opened up about her money situation. One of her fans told her that her videos were not the best quality and they mentioned that she should just get an iPhone instead.

Tammy decided that she would reply with a video to this fan. In the video, she said, I’m glad you know how much money I have ’cause that’s not true. We’re not rich, TLC is rich. They are making money off of us. Get your facts straight before you start running your mouth.”
Of course, Tammy’s fans were shocked at her reply and many of them told her that if they are not making money off of the show, they need to get a lawyer and get them to work on this.
One fan replied, “Then why are you working with a company that does not pay you what you are worth? No hate, judgement, or having anything to with you as a person. Just talking business contract law. Why would you work with a company and expose yourself and sometimes in negative ways on TV for millions to watch if you’re not benefiting anything?? I’m not saying that you’re rich and that you’re making hundreds of thousands of dollars, but I’m sure they are helping out and benefiting your life in some way. At least, I would like to hope so.”
Some fans were on Tammy’s side when it came to her telling everyone that they don’t get paid well, but there were other fans that said, “Tammy is full of crap.” With all of the net worths we have seen from TLC cast members, it looks as if they do get paid pretty well, but perhaps Tammy has a lot of debt that she needs help with and maybe that is why it isn’t evening out for her.
Season three of 1000-Lb Sisters premieres on TLC on November 15.
