‘Young and the Restless’ spoilers relate that for Noah Alexander Gerry, acting has always been in his blood. As a matter of fact, it’s something that has been in his family for years! The Young and the Restless star, who plays, Charlie on the hit CBS soap, says that he often recalls traveling to California so his sisters could audition for commercials.

“They were the ones who really liked acting, and I went along with them because I was a little kid at the time, and they couldn’t leave me at home,” the handsome actors tells Soaps in Depth in an interview. “I actually didn’t like acting that much until I was about 12 or 13 years old, and I got my first audition for a drama. I actually got to build the character, and I thought that was so much fun! So that kind of changed my life, and I realized that was what I wanted to do!”

And while his parents were very supportive of his decision to dip his toes into the entertainment industry, Noah says that his mother and father told him all about the good, the bad, and the downright ugly when it came to acting in Hollywood. In other words, they wanted Noah to have a backup plan in case things wouldn’t work out the way he had hoped.
“[Show business] isn’t the most stable of professions, so they wanted to make sure we were prepared for life if it didn’t work out,” he recalled. “But they drove us around to auditions, got us into as many acting classes as they could. They just wanted to make sure that this was something we wanted to do and let us know how much work it would be and that it would be a long road ahead. They were very honest with me, but they supported my decision, too.”
