The Young and the Restless spoilers indicate that Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) says goodbye to Genoa City as the celebrated actress makes her final exit from the show both on and off the screen..Y&R spoilers show Jack and the other members of the Abbott family attempting everything to try and get Ashley to remain in Genoa, but she has made up her mind: she’s as good as gone.

This is sad news for fans of Eileen Davidson. Based on reactions Daily Soap Dish has observed all over Social Networks, she’s definitely one of the fan favourites. That much can be expected since Eileen Davidson has been playing the role of Ashley Abbott on and off since 1982.
That’s 36 years of Y&R history, and a giant of the Soap Opera world that is leaving. Can Eileen Davidson even be replaced? Many fans feel like the recent focus on the Rosales family has the show turning in the wrong direction. Some also feel like Eileen’s departure is but another step towards a complete change of direction, and maybe even an eventual Y&R overhaul. Check out this interview with Eileen Davidson:

Another fan favourite, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), recently found himself at odds with Jordi Vilasuso (Rey Rosales) after they engaged in a twitter shouting match. Braeden was upset over the Y&R legacy and how some of the all time greats were treated, saying:
” They asked WHO about what the Y&R legacy meant to them??? How about asking Jess WALTON, TRACY BREGMAN, DOUGIE DAVIDSON, EILEEN DAVIDSON, CHRISTIAN Le BLANC, GREG RIKART, CHRYSTAL KHALIL, LAURALEE BELL, MISHAEL MORGAN etc!!”

Jordi Vilasuso took offence to this, clapping back:

As we can see, it’s not just the fans that are having trouble with what’s happening to the show they know and love but the actors themselves that are going at it. Of course, we know that Eric Braeden is quite trigger-happy when it comes to letting his opinions known on twitter, he also recently scolded Daniel Newman for putting down Soap Opera actors:
