‘Young and the Restless’ spoilers report that Kelly Kruger’s return to Y&R for the special episode might not have been temporary. Yes, Mackenzie is back and she could be here to stay, although her return was under special circumstances. She came back for a memorial service that is for her dead husband, who is the old J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill). This episode occured on January 10, 2019.
‘Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Mackenzie Browning, A Bit of History
Mackenzie Browning was first introduced on Y&R in 1999. She was introduced to Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper), in a homeless shelter. In that episode, Mackenzie had run away from home when she was a young teen. Mrs. Chancellor did her research and realized that Mackenzie was her granddaughter. Eventually Mackenzie married JT, and they moved to Washington D.C.

Before her return last week, Mackenzie was last seen in June of 2018. That was the time that she got all embroiled in the search for her husband. In that episode, she noticed that there had been purchases on his credit card then, as the story developed, Nick had been pretending to be J.T. just to taunt Victor.
There are no details yet if Kruger will return to Y&R for a long-time span or if she’ll be on one episode solely. There are many questions that have been thrown out there for different scenarios with Mackenzie and her missing ex-husband.
‘Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Permanent Comeback On Y&R?
The last time Kruger returned, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), was right on the trail to finding answers about J.T. She was last seen on Y&R on November 6th. Old fans have shown their approval in Mackenzie returning, but there are always these looming questions that fans would like to be explained.

Kruger is not the original Mackenzie, but Kelly was the actress to come back on the 45thanniversary celebration. She is a very busy lady as she’s also working on movies. Kelly is extremely excited to be back on the Young & the Restless, in fact she even posted on Instagram about how happy she is to be returning to her Y&R family. It was great seeing Mackenzie back in action and we look forward to see whether she stays on in a more permanent role and what story arches she could be involved in now that she got some conclosure… or did she? After all, we can never be 100% on the ‘Young and the Restless’.
