Simply put, Victor Newman is a legend. Without the moustache around, Genoa City just wouldn’t be the same. And while he’s faked his death several times in the past, some people believe that he might be exiting the soap for good this time. At least, that’s what the internet rumors are saying.

Victor Newman spoke to CBS Soaps in Depth and said that no, he’s not going anywhere, anytime soon. That’s because he loves his job too much! What’s more, he’s got a huge celebration right around the corner. Eric has been with the soap for four decades now, making him one of The Young and the Restless’ longest-running vets. He will be celebrating his 40thanniversary in February of next year.

“Can you believe it? How lucky am I!” he marveled. “For 40 years, I have been doing what I love doing! In this business, you have 90 to 95 percent of actors who can’t make a living full-time. But I’ve been employed, more or less, since 1962. That was on [primetime]. But as an actor, you never really feel safe that this job is going to last. I don’t have any personal pictures in my dressing room because of that! It’s almost 40 years later, and I still don’t trust it. It’s the nature of this business!”
In other words, get your party hats on because we have a feeling that his co-stars and friends on the set of ‘Young and the Restless’ will be throwing him one heck of a party!
