‘Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Eileen Davidson Dishes On Y&R Departure and Potential Return
In a new interview with Soap Opera Digest, the blonde beauty discussed the reasons why she left the highly-rated daytime television show and whether or not she would be interested in reprising her role in the near future.

Speaking to the publication, Eileen says one of the reasons why she left The Young and the Restless after just one short year back is because she wanted to spend more time with her family. What’s more, she also felt it was time for a change. With that being said, she clarified that Mal Young’s presence as the head producer and writer had nothing to do with her decision to leave. Instead, she was simply feeling exhausted with the filming schedule and wanted to give herself a break.
Now that the actress has had enough time to rest and relax, does this mean that Eileen might be coming back in the near future? There’s a strong possibility that it might happen, although nothing seems to be set in stone so far. Eileen said, “I don’t know. I don’t have anything against it. I never did. I did tell them when I was leaving that I wasn’t able to be there on a consistent basis in the near future. If they had to recast, they should do that. I don’t hate anybody. I’d be happy to do a little story arc, should they need me.”

Either way, it’s without a doubt that many fans have their fingers crossed while hoping for Ashley Abbott to return.
