‘Young and the Restless’ spoilers relate that fans of the Y&R recently found out that one of their favorite characters is coming back to the show. Paul Williams, played by Doug Davidson, is coming back to the show! The show’s former executive producer, Mal Young, fired Davidson. He has been a star of the show for over 40 years so this was quite a shock for him and fans of the show. Fans were shocked that he was taken off the show and with the outpouring of fans contacting the show about Paul, the producers and writers of the show have listened and are bringing him back.

‘Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Doug Davidson Gives Tell All Interview On Being Fired, Was Completely Blindsided By Rash Mal Young Decision!

Davidson got open and honest with some sources about finding out that he was getting fired. He remembers how he was working away on a scene and Mal Young asked him to come to his office after the shoot. He told our sources that there was no indication at all that he was going to be fired. There were no warnings at all. He was removed from his contract and just like that he was done.

After he shot his last scene, Mal Young chatted with Davidson about his contract. He was told that he shouldn’t talk about it to anyone on the show or any of his fans. Young made it clear that it would only do harm if anyone else found out. Davidson was told that Paul would be a recurring role, but there was nothing else written for him on the show, so the recurring role turned into no role at all.

Fans were not given a heads up and they suddenly found that Paul was missing on the show with no warning or exit comments from the staff of the Young and the Restless. They were incredibly saddened by the loss of one of their favorite characters. We are now happy to announce that Paul will be back and head writer, Josh Griffith has started writing him into shows. He will return around March 26th as our sources have confirmed.

It is important to note that Davidson is not currently under contract. We have also been told that none of the characters will even act like Paul was gone. He will slide right onto the show as if he was never gone in the first place. Perhaps he was working on a big case that made him leave the country or he was on a very long break. Only time will tell how far Paul will get back into the show, but we know we are incredibly happy to see his return!

    B. Novak is and has always been a soap opera lover. He was first introduced to the world of soaps when his mom used to watch them when he was a kid in French. Yes, in French! That's how he first discovered the wickedly delicious beauty of the sinuous storylines that make the soap opera world. He had to take a break for some time due to other life commitments but he's back to watching Soap Operas and looks forward to writing about them each and every day.
