Wendy Williams is in a court battle to get her bank accounts unfrozen because it would seem that a former financial advisor on her team told Wells Fargo that she was ‘of unsound mind’ and now the bank has frozen her assets for fear that she either has dementia or other financial exploitation. The accounts have several million dollars in them currently, and the bank thinks that Williams is certifiable so they’ve now locked everything down.
Can A Bank Actually Do That?
Considering what just went on during the #FreeBritney movement, this is concerning because last we checked, yes Wendy Williams needed to step away from her talk show due to her medical issues, but her mind was just fine. Now because of one former financial advisor’s opinion, she’s being deprived of her money.
Wendy Williams’ Bank Freezes Her Accounts Because Of Suspected Dementia?
Her lawyer is arguing that Wendy is currently at risk for “imminent and irreparable financial damage” if she doesn’t get access to her funds. No, we get it, the thing is Wendy has done nothing so far to raise any kind of red flag, so what exactly did this former financial advisor tell Wells Fargo that made them restrict access to her funds?
Wendy’s team and even her family vehemently denies the rumor that Wendy has dementia. They are also denying any other kind of rumor centered around Williams’ having a stroke, or even drug use (Wendy has had addiction issues in the past but she is in recovery for that as far as we know) are categorically false.
“We haven’t had any alerts like that.” said her brother, Thomas Williams, back in Nov. of 2021. Allegedly, Wendy was reported as saying when she got back to her show she was going to fire everyone, and there were rumors that as of two weeks ago she could not dress herself. Williams suffers from Graves’ disease, a disease of the thyroid, chronic fatigue can sometimes be an issue with thyroid problems.
It looks like Williams has an open door to return if she is healed enough by September, until then a “permanent guest host”, Sherri Shepard, will be taking over. However, Fox, the network that owns the Wendy Show says that if Wendy is not healed enough by September that they will probably change the name of the show and make Shepard the new host. This whole situation is odd, to say the least. Stay tuned!!!
