‘Welcome to Plathville’ spoilers indicate Plath’s new tenants are making them step outside their comfort zone, especially Kim and Barry. Ross introduced the kids to the Australian delight which is called a Tim Tam, a chocolate cookie that is basically hollow inside, you bite off both ends of it and then you use it as a straw to drink whatever beverage you’re having along with the cookies at the time.
Now, in the UK and Australia, that can most often mean tea, which seems to be made differently than it is in the US, a lot of people use milk in their tea. For this demonstration, the Gilberts and Plaths used milk.
‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers: The Plaths do the Tim-Tam Slam!
Kim was under the impression that they were all going to drink out of the same jug of milk and looked terrified for just one moment. Ross kept up the joke by saying that they were all going to pass around the jug and take swigs out of it, which, Barry seemed down for.
(Barry, what have you been doing in Tallahassee?) The kids were apprehensive though, they almost seemed to be afraid to take a bite because they were afraid of what Kim and Barry were going to say. As we all know, they’ve declared a moritorium on sugar in the Plath household. (Unless your name is Kim and then Kim has peppermints in her purse at all times.)
You could tell that Kim wanted to be strict, she wanted to start decrying the evils of sugar right there. You could see her inner Karen wriggling just underneath her skin, but she kept it under control all in the name of letting the kids have a ‘cultural’ experience.
Literally the only reason she let the kids have cookies was because they were from Australia. Oy! Lighten up and live a little, Kim! Of course the kids loved the chocolate, Lydia of course said that this whole thing was rather messy, but that she appreciated the cultural aspect because she loved participating in different cultures and meeting new people.
One thing about these Plath kids, they aren’t shy, that’s for sure. Will the Plaths be tempted to try other experiences in the name of culture as well? Stay tuned!!!
