‘Welcome to Plathville’ spoilers tells that in season 2 we find out that Ethan and Olivia Plath, the oldest, married son of Kim and Barry Plath, and his young wife, have cut all ties with Ethan’s parents. The reason being is because they stated that the relationship between them just became toxic.
In season 1 of Welcome to Plathville, you could see the beginnings of this toxic relationship when Kim and Barry began to severely limit just how often Ethan was allowed to come over and see his siblings. They never wanted Ethan and Olivia there unless they were there, supervising them, which really wasn’t fair to Ethan because he literally wasn’t doing anything wrong.
‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers: ‘No Contact’ for Ethan and Olivia
We did see Ethan and Olivia indulging in sugar, and the kids buying things like ice cream and soda when they were around, but what kid doesn’t like to have ice cream and sodas occassionally? Kim and Barry were entirely too controlling about that.
We also saw that in their private time, Ethan and Olivia also relaxed on the no alcohol rule and imbibed as responsible adults, however there was, to our knowledge, no alchohol ever consumed around the younger Plaths except for one time when the family was at dinner out at a restaraunt and Ethan ordered a beer.
Still, it was at a resteraunt, it was one glass, and he was well over the legal drinking age. It’s not like he tried to order a round for the entire family.
The toxicity came to a head when the Plath family moved from their big 55 acre farm in South Georgia to a place that Olivia says is literally 0.3 miles from their house, and yet, they are still not allowed to see the children unsupervised.
She says that she cannot avoid seeing them when she goes into town and that she takes a different route into town every day now, but that she doesn’t necessarily want them to know that. (Well, I guess they do now.)
She says that Micah and Moriah live literally 2 streets up from them and they don’t see them as often anymore because they’re mostly doing their own thing, but what hurts is the fact that Kim and Barry didn’t even bother telling them that they were moving into their neighborhood, they just kind of showed up.
Honestly, it seems sort of stalker-y to me, how Kim and Barry just gave no warning to Ethan and Olivia and just bought a place near theirs. What were they hoping to accomplish, spying on them?
I mean, one would hope not since Ethan is out of the house and married but what on earth were they thinking? Geeze. Hopefully, Ethan and Olivia can keep the no-contact thing going, who wants to hang where they’re not wanted? Stay tuned!!!
