‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers finds that Ethan Plath likes whiskey better than beer. He said that he hadn’t tasted much alcohol in his life, so he was pretty sure that whatever was in the bottle was going to make him ‘silly’.
Which, we won’t argue with, whatever in that bottle was probably pretty strong. He also said that the product smelled ‘high-class’, he wanted to say the word ‘bougie’ but wasn’t sure if he was using it right so he refrained. Hah, no Ethan, you’re definitely using that word right.

Afterwards, he and Olivia decided to have some good clean, fun by sitting downa the piano. Here’s where we get to see a little bit of Ethan’s personality more, it seems that he would be right at home in the prohibition days, in some speakeasy somewhere listening to old school jazz on the piano.
Olivia has definitely more of a 1940’s-50’s era nightclub vibe to her. You know, the supper clubs with the performances where everyone dressed all fancy and wore the ballgowns with the elbow length gloves, that sort of thing. So she’s definitely a bit more modern than he is.
That’s where they kind of clashed. Ethan wanted to continue dorking out on the piano to old school ragtime jazz and Olivia wanted a smoother sound. Don’t you just love it when life imitates art? This is kind of par for the course of their personalities.
While Olivia is definitely a more classic person, she doesn’t hesitate to be modern. Ethan seems to enjoy staying in the past because that’s his comfort zone. Oh well, I suppose since he cut all ties with his parents we can make some allowances for him. It’s not like he’s still letting them walk all over poor Olivia like they did. Still.
That being said, Ethan can really jam on that piano, even if it does sound really old school when he does. I’m just glad that their differences over music didn’t escalate, considering how not sober they were, but, I suppose we can hand it to both of them for learning how to hold their liquor.
