‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers reveal that Lydia Plath almost screwed that one up for the entire family. Poor Lydia, she’s only 17 and subtlety doesn’t really seem like it’s one of her specialties, which brother Micah Plath could clearly see when she wore two rings to the dinner table and kept flashing her hand at sister Moriah Plath in a very obvious way.

It was Micah who subtly asked her why she was wearing two rings and Lydia answered because she wanted to see if the ring fit her pinkie and then they all started trying it on in a joking manner, even the boys. Moriah was mystified and asked what on earth they were doing… little did she know.

The ring got passed around until it casually got passed to Moriah, and, womp womp, it did not fit her pinkie. However it went on her ring finger just fine.

Kim Plath decided at that moment to be as unintentionally helpful as ever and say that in her jewelry box that she had a ring that belonged to her Grandmother who had impossibly tiny fingers.

Lydia jumped up and went to get it, and Moriah willingly slid it on her hand – a fact that Lydia made note of. It fit perfectly, so I’m guessing they now know the size of Moriah’s pinkie, and they said it was pretty small.

This dinner was special because it was Barry’s 50th birthday, they were happy that Micah and Moriah made it but you could tell it totally grieved the Plaths to know that Ethan and Olivia wouldn’t be joining them in the celebration.

As distant as the Plaths may seem with their children, something has changed within them about the power dynamic, no longer are they the cold, exacting people we met in season 1.

In this season we’re starting to see more emotion come out of Kim and Barry, especially in regard to their children because with the absence of Ethan and Olivia they realize just how fragile that bond really is.

Unlike Hosanna, who just got married and is off living her own life and is at least still on speaking terms with them, Ethan and Olivia are not. They’re not on good terms with Kim and Barry and at this point we don’t know if they ever will be. Also, they’re moving to Tallahassee soon, will Kim and Barry even have time to reach out to them before they move? Stay tuned!!!
