‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers reveal that, on January 15th, Moriah Plath released a new single called “Missed Myself” which is a surprisingly upbeat breakup anthem of sorts. Moriah’s been wanting to get into the secular music game for a while and until most recently has been hampered by her uber-conservative family’s belief system.
It was implied by her brother, Ethan Plath, that previously Moriah had had an opportunity to release a secular album but their Mother, Kim Plath, wouldn’t hear of it simply because the album wasn’t filled with worship music. (Guess she’ll have to depend on Lydia for that particular genre.)
‘Welcome to Plathville’: Moriah Plath’s Sisters Dance To Her New Song!
Moriah’s new song has a decidedly upbeat, country-esque feel to it. Some people have speculated that it’s a break-up anthem and have speculated about the status of Moriah’s relationship with boyfriend Max Kall, but if you truly listen to the lyrics, I think you’ll catch that this song was totally dedicated to the toxic belief system that she escaped when she moved out of the Plath home.
It’s not so much a break-up anthem so much as a declaration of independence. In the song, she talks about how she’s killing it now, and how she’s “missed herself” which really sounds like she’s saying that she’s more herself now that she’s left home.
‘Welcome to Plathville’: …And We Think The Younger Plaths May Be Taking This Lesson To Heart
Her sisters, Amber, and Cassia, made up an entire dance to her new song which she posted to Instagram. An overjoyed Moriah was choked up, and a more touching show of support we have never seen. Not to be outdone, younger sister Lydia liked the post, but was nowhere to be seen in the video.
Recently, Lydia got her own instagram account and released her own song “One With the Father” that was also released on Spotify, however, whoever produced this song forgot that the background music is supposed to compliment the singer, not drown them out – we can barely hear Lydia’s gorgeous voice over the background music.
Still… there was no worship dance to Lydia’s song, but perhaps that wasn’t how Lydia wanted to celebrate her musical release. We think the younger Plaths may be taking a page out of Moriah’s book. Stay tuned!!!
