The new season of Welcome to Plathville is here and there have been quite a few changes since the last time we saw the family. Kim Plath and Barry Plath are no longer married and the children in the family are going through some tough times.
One of the children going through a rough patch is Moriah Plath. She has lost a lot in the last few years and wanted to open up more to her father, Barry about it. In the latest episode of Welcome to Plathville, she did just that.
Welcome to Plathville: Moriah’s Mental Health Suffers
On the last episode of Welcome to Plathville, Moriah was quick to explain to her father how she was doing. She told her father, “A few months ago, I hit rock bottom. I got used to just being miserable and I forgot what it felt like to be happy. And i was just yucky on the inside. I was very dark, very depressed. I just didn’t want to live anymore.”
Not only was Moriah dealing with her parents getting divorced, but her best friend, who is also her brother’s wife, turned her back on the family.
Welcome to Plathville: Moriah Plath’s Mental Health Suffers and She Tells Father She ‘Didn’t Want to Live Anymore’
Olivia Plath and Moriah were the best of friends, but there were a lot of issues that came out between them. Moriah knew that she had to cut ties with Olivia before their relationship got even worse.
Moriah told her father that Olivia stole some of her music from her and she eventually had to block her brother, Ethan Plath, as well.
In a confessional, she told the cameras, “I started to feel like this is not how I want to live my life. Like, God, if this is how it’s going to be, I just, I would rather just die. Like, I would never kill myself. But like, can you take me now?”
Barry was quick to tell Moriah that he is very familiar with the depression that she is feeling and could fully relate as his life isn’t exactly where he wanted it to be right now either. Moriah did tell him that she had been baptized again and this has really changed her outlook on life.
She added, “I’ve tried to do this alone for years, and there’s no way I’m going to be able to get through this without Jesus. God never felt real in my life until I hit rock bottom, until I realized I can’t do it alone.”
Barry and Moriah were able to reconnect and it seems to have made them both feel much better about how things in life are going. To see more of their stories, tune into Welcome to Plathville on Tuesday nights on TLC.
