‘Welcome to Plathville‘ star Lydia Plath is finally on Instagram! What does this mean about the hold her parents, Kim Plath and Barry Plath have over her and why is Lydia suddenly on social media?
While we may have to wait for the fourth season of the runaway TLC hit about the …er….eccentric family to see if this new foray into social media was sanctioned by Lydia’s parents or if Lydia is starting to break free from their strict clutches, we do know that Lydia’s post seems to be promoting her new music.
‘Welcome to Plathville’: Lydia Plath Gets Instagram to Promote Her New Music
Only joining in December, the almost 18 year old has over 31k followers and five posts at time of writing. The first post shows Lydia on a huge stage with a guitar in her hand and the caption: “Just in the past few months, God has given me a few songs and now I have the opportunity to share them with others:)
I love music and can’t wait to share it with you all!😊”
In the fifth post she announced: “I will be releasing my first song in January!☺️💖”
And the in-between posts? Well, it seems Lydia is breaking at least one or two of mom and dad’s highly restrictive rules- riding on the back of brother, Ethan’s motorcycle, having coffee with sister, Moriah, and, oh my stars, bingeing on sugary marshmallows with brother, Isaac.
So, no one expects to see Lydia running around in a pair of Moriah’s hotpants anytime soon, but fans are already flooding her IG comments, excited that she seems to be living her life more for herself than for Kim and Barry
We can only hope she is allowed to meet her “special friend” sometime soon and will get her own cell phone so she no longer has to share with her mother!
A fourth season of Welcome to Plathville has not been announced by TLC as yet, and if there is another season it will look very different with Ethan and Moriah now living in Florida with their significant others and Micah Plath trying to make it big in L.A.
To us, though, it sounds like a winner of a season! Fingers crossed and watch this space for potential season 4 news as we receive it!
