There are even more bizarre details coming out over what might have gone wrong in the tragic events that have left 8 dead at a Travis Scott concert in Houston this past weekend. According to some reports, one source claims that someone in the crowd was injecting drugs into concertgoers. Here’s what you need to know.
According to TMZ, Houston Police Department Chief Troy Finner says that at least one person in the crowd had been injected with something via a needle, and there may have been more. The Astroworld concert that also saw 300 injured “is now a criminal investigation that is going to involve our homicide division as well as narcotics.”
Was Someone Injecting Fans With Drugs During Deadly Travis Scott Concert?
However, all of the details are still not clear. “He was reaching over to restrain or grab a citizen and he felt a prick in his neck,” the police chief said. After he was given the Narcan, medical staff did see a mark on his neck that might appeared to be made by a needle, he said.
Those who died included victims ages 14 to 27. Of those who were injured, one of them is a 10-year-old.
Madeline Nurse, an ICU nurse in Texas, wrote in an Instagram post that it was absolute mayhem in the hospital following the chaos at the concert. She wrote, “stroworld festival this year was fucking terrible. I don’t think i’ve ever been more disturbed. Some of these medical staff had little to no experience with CPR.
They didn’t know how to check a pulse, carotid or femoral. EDIT LATE ME STATE THESE MEDICS ARE NOT TO BLAME, but a few of them did not have experience in situations with people losing pulses. Compressions were being done without a pulse check so ppl who had a pulse were getting CPR, but meanwhile there was not enough people to rotate out doing compressions on individuals that were actually pulseless.
The medical staff didn’t have the tools to do their jobs. And despite the crowd around us trying to get someone to stop the concert they just kept going. even though travis acknowledged that someone in the crowed needed an ambulance.
